Laser Genesis FAQ’s

How is Laser Genesis different from other treatments?

This is a non-invasive procedure. You can rest assured that no lasers, knives or needles will be piercing your skin. Utilising the most innovative laser technology, we can treat a large amount of skin problems, including uneven lines, wrinkles, large pores, extreme redness and unsightly scars.

This laser treatment is performed in a relaxed setting and doesn’t take all day. There is also no bruising or large amounts of skin irritation that occur with other treatment methods.

What areas can be treated?

Almost any area of the body can be treated with laser skin rejuvenation treatment. It will help remove scarring or blemishes on any part of the body. It’s particularly good for the face as it removes unsightly skin problems and produces collagen to reinvigorate the face naturally.

What is diffuse redness?

Diffuse redness is a common problem people have on their face. Often affecting the nose, cheeks and forehead, it occurs when capillaries become dilated. These dilated capillaries cause harsh redness of the face. Diffuse redness is often associated with rosacea, a hereditary skin condition that many suffer from.

What does the procedure feel like?

There is no pain or discomfort involved in the Laser Genesis treatment; patients actually find it quite therapeutic. A slight warming of the skin occurs as the laser handpiece is applied to the skin, but that’s it. After the treatment has concluded you can go straight back to your regular routine. Go back to work, exercise or rest, it’s up to you. Although, if you do go outside it’s recommended that you use sunscreen.

How does Laser Genesis work?

The Laser Genesis skin therapy works by heating the upper dermis, found underneath the skin’s surface. The heat from the laser promotes collagen growth under the skin causing wrinkles to disappear. The heat also causes dilated capillaries redness to decrease.

What can I expect before treatment?

Before any treatment takes place, patients will have to remove makeup or moisturisers that can interfere with the practitioner’s ability to see the skin conditions. Patients may also require a shave before undergoing the procedure.

No anaesthetic or gel is used for the procedure as there is no discomfort during treatment making them unnecessary. The Prescription Skin Care physician will help you with any of the requirements necessary before going ahead with treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

For the best results, patients should undergo on average between 4-6 treatments. After a single treatment, patients will begin to see results after around 4 weeks. But to achieve the expected results most patients desire, they’ll require more than just the one. Treatments should be four to six weeks apart.

What are the possible side effects?

Most patients will report little to no identifiable side effects as a result of Laser Genesis treatment. The most regular is a slight redness which vanishes in the hours following treatment. Any side effects can be discussed with your Prescription Skin Care practitioner.

What kind of improvements will I see?

As you complete your multiple Laser Genesis treatments, you can expect the youthfulness and smoothness of your skin to appear. With each procedure sun damage, scars, large pores and uneven textures will disappear or dissipate entirely leaving your skin glowing.
